Nova Armonia selects between 8 and 12 finalist tracks through an international public call. We are looking for tracks that have something to say, and authors willing to tell how they brought them to life.

What you need
Five elements
for every application.
We don’t assess only the track, but also how you tell it. The process sheet does not measure “how much” you intervened, but the awareness with which you did it.
The lyrics
The lyrics of the track, where present, with any language notes.
The process sheet
The account of how it came to be: idea, AI tools, human role, choices and discards. It is an integral part of the work.
The transparency declaration
An honest statement on the tools used and the authorial contribution, in line with the Charter.
The staging proposal
How you intend to present the track live at the Auditorium: in a theatre it is not just listening, you need something to accompany it.
How we assess
Three criteria,
equal weight.
Each juror gives every shortlisted track three marks from 1 to 10, one per criterion. The track and its account are assessed together.
Technical quality
Production, sound, voice: how well the result is crafted.
Artistic quality
The idea, the originality, the emotion: what the track has to say.
Quality of the process
How true and aware the account is. It does not matter how much you did and how much the AI did: a track born from a single prompt and one born from fifty iterations start on equal terms. What matters is that the account is true and the choices are yours.
What to write in the process sheet
Answer these questions, even briefly.
- The starting point. Where the track came from: an idea, a lyric, a melody, an emotion, an experiment.
- Who did what. For each part (lyrics, melody, arrangement, voice, mix) say whether you did it, the AI did it or you did it together, and with which tool.
- The dialogue with the machine. How many versions, what you asked for, what you fixed by hand.
- Choices and discards. What you kept and what you discarded, and why. Including the machine’s mistakes you decided to keep.
If you wish, you can attach evidence of the process: prompts and screenshots among the materials (as PDF or images), intermediate versions among the audio files, after the final track. They are not mandatory, but they help the jury, and the organisers may ask for them to verify what you declared (article 7 of the rules). The jury assesses blind: remove your name and personal references from the files.
The staging
In a theatre it is
not just listening.
In your application you already describe how you would present the track live at the Auditorium: the finalists will then bring it to the stage. You need an element to complement the song, from a simple projected video to something more elaborate. The modes can be combined.
Projected video
Visual content accompanying the track on the Auditorium screen: from the simplest to the most refined.
Choreography
A stage presence of dance or movement, designed for the space of the stage.
Live performance
Singing or playing live, even miming the performance of the generated track.
Other
Any other form of staging, to be specified in the application.
In the application you will indicate the chosen mode (even more than one) with a short description of how you imagine the moment on stage.

Call opens
The international public call is open to authors of tracks created with artificial intelligence, from all over the world.

Pre-selection
A technical committee checks the rules, the materials and the process sheet.

The finalists
The jury chooses the 8–12 finalist tracks, which then have about ten weeks to prepare the staging.

The final
The live evening at the Auditorium Little Tony in Serravalle, where the awards are presented. The next day, a round table and talks open to the public.
Eligibility
The rules, in brief.
- Tracks born from a single prompt are as welcome as those from fifty iterations: what counts is the truth of the account. Admission, however, is not the prize: the jury judges authorial direction, not generation as such.
- Tracks that deceptively imitate living artists or unauthorised recognisable voices are not admitted.
- Works protected by copyright and used without the consent of the rights holders are not admitted.
- Tracks protected by SIAE or other collective rights management organisations are not admitted.
- Filling in the process sheet truthfully is a condition for admission.
- Each application requires a registration contribution of €10.00, paid online with PayPal when you submit. The authors of the tracks selected for the final get the contribution refunded.
